Fennel Tea

Ok, as a positive offset to my last post, something different and delightful. Fennel is native to Europe and the Mediterranean but has been naturalized to the United States. It makes a beautiful licorice flavored, green colored tea. Here are photos of some I recently made.

Note: If you are going to find some, make sure you find the right thing. The flowers of Poison Hemlock, the plant that killed Socrates, are somewhat similar. But its flowers are white and it has a carroty flavor so you should be able to tell the difference. If you still can’t then don’t try.
