Those of you who live in rainy areas may not appreciate this as much as some of us here in California, otherwise known at the moment as the Big Dry.

Poison Oak in a variety of colors!
Take a walk, or better yet, a hike in the rain. I highly recommend it.
Glad to hear you’re getting som rain after all! š

Yes, late or not we’ll take it. We could use a lot more though. Thanks for the comment. š

I didn’t even realise it was that bad until a few days ago when someone told me!

Worst drought in 1,200 years they say. One year of water left. Another year like the last four and who knows what 40 mill people will do. See my previous post Threat Assessment. Hopefully things will improve.

Yes we certainly do. We just had the opposite problem to you and had flooding a few days ago. I’ve never seen anything like it in New Zealand! And we had a couple of tornadoes too. Scary stuff.

Really! How common are tornadoes in New Zealand?
Anyway, that’s why the better term is Climate Change, rather than older term Global Warming. Though the the overall trend is warmer, the weather can react differently in different areas, even getting temporarily colder in a few places.

Tornadoes are not common in NZ at all! That’s why it’s so strange that we’ve had some.
