The making of both the cover photo and the image of Miocene California was an ordeal in itself. Fortunately, my brother Rod is an adept artist and patiently constructed the pictures based on my descriptions. Actually, he came up with some of the design of the cover himself. At first, I argued about the crack in the world, then, upon reflection, agreed that it was a good idea.
He worked with these pictures, spending many hours thereon. I am grateful. I wasn’t the easiest person to work with, I know. But I had a vision in mind. Anyway, my book is all the better for his great artwork, and, of course, Marianne Collins’ wonderful painting. You can see Rod’s work on the Opalescence Cover Image page.
